Alright, folks, gather ’round, let me tell you about this little adventure I had recently. So, I’ve been eyeing this OMEGA Speedmaster Skywalker X-33 for a while now. You know, the one that’s all space-agey and looks like it came straight out of a sci-fi movie? Yeah, that one.
First, I started digging around for info. Found out it’s made of grade 2 titanium. Fancy, right? It’s got a 45 mm case, which is a pretty decent size, and a black ceramic bezel ring that just screams “I’m a serious watch!” The dial is black too, with an LCD display. The band is a mix of grade 2 and 5 titanium. It is cool!
I also learned a bit about the classic Moonwatch. It’s the one most people think of when they hear “Speedmaster.” It’s got that manual-wind movement, Hesalite crystal, and that iconic black dial. Apparently, it hasn’t changed much since the original one worn on the Moon. That’s some serious history right there.
Here’s where it gets interesting. I heard that these Speedmasters are actually going up in value. Like, a lot. For example, a Speedy with a Hesalite crystal, went up over 10% in the last 18 months! That is crazy. And get this, they are saying OMEGA might raise their prices again at the start of 2024. This price thing really got me thinking.
So, I started checking out some websites. Lots of images, that’s for sure. They were all about worry-free licensing, fresh images, and fast search. All the usual stuff. Low prices they claimed. Some of the sites had over 100K visitors in the last month, which is pretty wild.
- One site, I won’t name names, but you know it, was all about buying and selling used OMEGA watches.
- Another one, with a name that sounds like a watch brand, had a bunch of new offers daily, and they had the Skywalker X-33 in stock.
- There was also this other site where you could learn all about the style of the watch.
After all that, I finally decided to pull the trigger. I found a seller, did all the usual checks to make sure everything was legit, and made the purchase. Now, I’m just waiting for it to arrive. It’s like waiting for Christmas morning, but way cooler because it’s a space watch!
I’ll definitely keep you all updated once I get my hands on it. We’ll see if it lives up to the hype. Stay tuned!
