Okay, so, I saw this bag, this Yves Saint Laurent, they call it the YSL JUNE BOX BAG. It’s a real looker, a real fancy thing. I heard it’s like, a classic or something, but they remade it. Sounds kind of odd to me, but I thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
First, I started looking at a bunch of pictures of this thing online. I stared at them for hours, trying to get every little detail in my head. This bag, it’s like a box, a real box. I mean, it’s called a BOX BAG, right? So, I grabbed some cardboard, some old leather scraps I had lying around, and started cutting and measuring.
- Get the materials. Cardboard for the shape, leather for the outside.
- Look at pictures. Lots of them. Gotta know what it looks like.
- Start cutting. Make the box shape first.
Then, I started putting the box together. Glued the cardboard, making sure it was all square and sturdy. It wasn’t perfect, but hey, it was starting to look like a box. Next, I went on to cover it with the leather. Wrapped it around the cardboard, kind of like wrapping a present, but way harder. I had to make sure the leather was smooth, no wrinkles or bumps. It was tough, I tell you, my fingers got all sticky from the glue, and the leather kept slipping.
After that, I started working on the details. The little YSL logo, that was a real pain. I tried cutting it out of leather, but it kept fraying. Ended up using some metal pieces I found, shaped them into the letters, and glued them on. It wasn’t exactly like the real thing, but it kinda looked like it, at least from far away.
- Glue the box. Make it strong, make it square.
- Wrap with leather. Like a present, but much harder.
- Make the logo. The hardest part, use metal if you can.
The strap, I made it from a long piece of leather, attached some metal rings, and hooked it to the bag. It was a bit wonky, not gonna lie, but it held. I even added a little flap, like the real bag, with a snap button to close it. That was tricky, getting the snap to work right, but I managed it after a few tries.
Finally got it done
Finally, after a lot of sweat, and maybe a few curse words, I had my own homemade YSL JUNE BOX BAG. It wasn’t perfect, no sir, but it was mine. I carried it around, feeling pretty proud of myself. People probably thought I was nuts, carrying a homemade bag, but I didn’t care. I made it, and that’s what mattered.
So, if you’re thinking of making your own YSL JUNE BOX BAG, go for it. It’s a fun project, a real challenge. Just be ready to get your hands dirty, and don’t expect it to be easy. But in the end, you’ll have something unique, something you made yourself. And that’s pretty cool, right?
