Alright, so I got this idea the other day, I wanted to remake one of those fancy Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAGs. You know, the ones from the official flagship store. They’re pretty swanky.
First, I did some digging around. Learned that YSL, that’s short for Yves Saint Laurent, they’ve been making these bags for a while. This JUNE BOX BAG, it’s got this old-school vibe, but it’s also kinda modern. They call it “vintage” and “modern.”
Looked up the history, too.
- Turns out, this Yves Saint Laurent guy, he was a big deal back in the day. Clothes, bags, you name it.
- And this bag, it’s named after some lady, Loulou, a friend of his.
Then, I started thinking about how to actually remake it. I’m no expert, but I figured, why not give it a shot? I got myself some materials. Now, they say the real ones are made with all sorts of high-end stuff, silk, genuine leather, metal, you get the idea. I went with what I could find. A good quality material is necessary.
I started cutting and sewing. It was a bit of a mess at first, not gonna lie. But I kept at it. Watched some videos online, got some tips. It’s all about the details, you know? These YSL bags, they’re carefully made, with attention to the small stuff.
After a lot of trial and error, I finally had something that looked kinda like the JUNE BOX BAG. It wasn’t perfect, but I was pretty proud of it. It even had that shiny YSL thing on the front. I used some other letter to stick them together. It’s not as shiny as the original one, but acceptable.
I also learned that if you buy one of these from the YSL website, they pack it up real nice in a fancy box. And that these bags, they’re supposed to be timeless, never go out of style. I guess that’s why people are willing to pay so much for them. And they say these bags hold their value, so it’s like an investment.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure in trying to remake a YSL JUNE BOX BAG. It was fun, a good learning experience. And I am excited to show my friends the bag. Maybe I’ll try making another one someday, who knows?
Oh, and I heard there’s this brand, Quince, that makes some pretty good YSL Bag Dupes. Might check that out too. But for now, I’m happy with my homemade version. It ain’t a real Yves Saint Laurent, but it’s mine. And I think it turned out pretty darn good.
