Alright, folks, gather ’round! Today, I wanna share my little adventure of remaking the Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG that I found in their online store. Now, I ain’t no fashion expert, but this bag caught my eye, and I thought, “Why not give it a try?”
So, first things first, I went ahead and studied this JUNE BOX BAG. It’s a “BOX BAG WITH FRONT FLAP FEATURING PIVOTING CASSANDRE CLOSURE AND DIAMOND-QUILTED OVERSTITCHING”, they say. Sounds fancy, right? I looked at a bunch of pictures online, trying to get a good look at all the details. That “DIAMOND-QUILTED OVERSTITCHING” looked like a real challenge, but I was determined to figure it out.
Next, I started gathering my materials. I needed some good-quality leather, something that would feel nice and soft but also be sturdy enough to hold its shape. And of course, I needed that shiny YSL logo thingy. I did a lot of searching and managed to find a decent piece of leather and I crafted a similar logo myself from some scrap metal I had lying around. It wasn’t perfect, but it looked close enough.
- Sourcing the leather: Checked out a few local shops and finally found the perfect piece.
- Making the logo: This was a bit tricky, but with some patience and a steady hand, I managed to craft something that resembled the original.
- Cutting the leather: I carefully measured and cut the leather according to the dimensions of the original bag.
Then came the hard part – the sewing. Now, I’m pretty handy with a needle and thread, but this “DIAMOND-QUILTED OVERSTITCHING” was something else. I practiced on some scrap leather first, trying to get the pattern just right. It took a few tries, but eventually, I got the hang of it.
Stitching and Assembling
With the stitching figured out, I started putting the bag together. I sewed the pieces of leather together, carefully following the design of the original. It was slow going, but I wanted to make sure everything was lined up perfectly.
Finally, after many hours of work, the bag was finished! I attached the logo, added the strap, and there it was – my very own Remake Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG. It wasn’t an exact replica, of course, but I was pretty darn proud of it.
I carried it around for a few days, and you know what? It felt pretty good! It held all my stuff, and it looked pretty stylish, if I do say so myself. I even got a few compliments on it, which was a nice bonus.
