Alright, let me tell you about my latest project. I got my hands on this Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience getting it set up just right.
First off, I did some digging online and found out this watch was the star of the show at the Watches & Wonders event back in 2023. Fancy, right? I also learned it’s not just a pretty face; it’s actually considered a sports watch. Who would have thought? It came out in 1931, so it’s got that classic gentleman vibe, but apparently, it’s pretty versatile. A mature people watch or something.
I got the watch, after I tried to wear it, I thought it seemed like something you could pair with jeans and sneakers or even a polo shirt. Although it is a sports watch, it doesn’t look like a dressy watch. I think it can be an everyday watch, except for the water resistance part. Anyway, before I wore it, I started messing around with the settings. This thing is double-sided, which is pretty cool. There is a button on the side, then I started adjusting the time on both sides.
The case is about 49.4 mm by 29.9 mm and 11.4 mm thick, according to my rough measurements. It’s a manual wind, so I carefully wound it up, making sure not to overdo it.
After setting the time on both faces, I looked at the movement, I found that it houses a Caliber 860 movement, which seems pretty standard for this model. Once everything was set, I strapped it on. It felt good on the wrist, not too heavy, not too light.
So, that’s my little adventure with the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso. It was fun figuring out all the settings and getting it ready to wear. I think I’m going to enjoy this one.
