That Patek Philippe, oh boy, it’s a real fancy thing. My neighbor’s son, he got one. Showed it off to everybody. Said it’s a Calatrava 5226G-001. I seen it, real shiny. Heard it costs more than my whole house! Some folks, they just got money to burn, I reckon. This one, it winds itself, they say. Don’t need no battery. Fancy, huh?
Now, that boy, he says it’s a good thing to buy. Like puttin’ money in the bank, only better, he says. Says these Patek Philippe Calatrava watches, they hold their value. Some even get worth more later on! Hard to believe, right? But he’s a smart boy, went to college and all. He said some of these watches are good for saving up, like the Nautilus and the Aquanaut. Those names, they just sound expensive, don’t they? Then there is Calatrava, I heard this word many many times.
He says this Calatrava 5226G-001, it’s new. Just came out. Shiniest thing you ever seen. But, if you want one of them, you gotta be ready to pay big. Real big. And he says, you might have to wait. I don’t know about all that, though. Seems like a lot of fuss for somethin’ that tells time. My old clock, it works just fine. Cost me five dollars at the flea market. Tells time just as good as that fancy Patek Philippe. Maybe not as pretty, but it does the job.
But, if you got the money, and you like that sort of thing, then I guess it’s alright. Me? I’d rather spend my money on somethin’ useful. New roof for the house, maybe. Or a good strong fence to keep them deer out of my garden.
This boy, he says people collect these Calatrava watches. Got a whole bunch of ’em, different kinds. Some old ones, he says they’re worth a fortune. Called ’em “vintage.” Like old clothes, but worth more. There are many kinds of Calatrava watches all these years. Those old things, can not believe they are so expensive now.

If you are gonna get one, better make sure you got a safe place to keep it. Wouldn’t want it gettin’ scratched or stolen. That’s a lot of money to lose. A Patek Philippe is very expensive. Especially for a Calatrava 5226G-001.
And I heard, you gotta take care of it special. Like a baby. Gotta clean it and wind it and all that. Sounds like a lot of work to me. My old clock, I just dust it off every now and then. Good as new.
This Calatrava 5226G-001, it’s a pretty thing, I’ll give it that. But is it worth all that money? I don’t know. Depends on what you like, I guess. If you like that high-end thing, and you got a big amount of money. This Patek Philippe is for you. Seems like that Calatrava is the one people talk about a lot. And those Nautilus and Aquanaut ones, too. They are all good they say.
That boy, he says it’s like wearin’ a piece of art. I guess that’s one way to look at it. Me, I’d be too scared to wear it. Afraid I’d break it or lose it. I remember, I once lost my good earrings at the county fair. Cried for a week. I don’t want to cry for a Patek Philippe.
Now, if you’re thinkin’ about buyin’ one of these Patek Philippe Calatrava watches, especially that 5226G-001, you better do your research. That’s what that boy said. Make sure you know what you’re gettin’ into. It’s a big decision. Lots of money. And you might have to wait a long time to get it. Like I said, some people wait for 8 years. I can not wait so long for anything.
So, that’s all I know about that fancy Patek Philippe Calatrava 5226G-001. It’s a pretty thing, but it’s not for me. I’m happy with my five-dollar clock. It tells time just fine. And I don’t have to worry about losin’ it or breakin’ it. That’s worth more than all the gold in the world, if you ask me.
