Hey everyone, I’m back again to talk about my latest project. This time, I decided to remake the famous Yves Saint Laurent YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG. You know, the one that everyone’s been talking about. People are always like “YSL this, YSL that,” and I got curious, so I just had to give it a shot.
First off, I started by gathering all the materials I needed. I spent a good chunk of time researching what the original bag is made of. I found out that the brand used to be called Yves Saint Laurent, but then they changed it to Saint Laurent Paris around 2012. I guess they wanted to switch things up a bit. Once I had a good idea of the materials, I began the process of cutting and assembling the pieces. I have to say, it wasn’t easy. There were a lot of small details to pay attention to. There’s a lot of manual work involved, which is why these bags are so expensive. Plus, I heard that any Dior bag made before 1997 doesn’t have a serial number. Isn’t that wild? And on smaller leather goods, the date code is usually near the stitch line. That’s some real attention to detail. I also learned that the pricing of these luxury items can change because of material costs, labor, and other economic stuff. That is why this kind of work is not an easy thing.
- I carefully measured and cut each piece of leather according to the pattern I had created.

The whole process took me several days, but I was determined to get it right. I even compared my work to pictures of the original bag to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. I mean, they do look pretty much the same. The only reason to buy an original is to show off the brand, really. And that’s fair enough.
The Final Result
Finally, after all that hard work, I finished the bag! I have to say, I’m pretty proud of how it turned out. It looks almost identical to the real deal. It’s not exactly the same, of course. They use machines to make thousands a day. They have their ways, but this is the best I could do. I’ve been carrying it around for a few days now, and it feels great. I’ve even gotten a few compliments on it! If you’re thinking about getting a YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG but don’t want to spend a fortune, maybe consider trying to make one yourself.
